Welcome to the HZDR Summer Student Program 2020. The HZDR is now inviting international advanced undergraduate and master students in natural sciences and related areas to join our research teams during the time between July and September 2020.
Summer students will work and research in one of our institutes, being
an integral part of a research group working on predefined topics.
The tasks range from hands on operations in the labs to data analysis, scientific computing and theoretical science. It is a good chance to get
to know the day-to-day scientific life. Research at the HZDR has many facets, providing students with the unique opportunity of working in either natural or life sciences while focusing on fundamental or application-driven research or technology development.

Projects and Lectures
Summer student projects will be selected in a competitive process from a list of proposals provided by research groups at HZDR in order to find the perfect match for each student. Individual work in the research groups will be accompanied by a lecture series open to all summer students that will provide insight into the research performed at HZDR.
Who can apply? All students holding a bachelor’s degree, “pre-diploma” (i.e. Vordiplom), or their equivalent are welcome to apply for an HZDR summer student position.

Deadline for applications? The Application procedure starts on January 2020 and students should apply before March 1st, 2020. Notification of acceptance will be send due to April 15th, 2020.
HZDR summer students will receive free accommodation as well as a stipend to cover additional costs. Please refer to our
